Bienvenue!
August 15, 2020
Dear parents and students,
First, I would like to apologize to my 4th block students and parents for having lost contact with you yesterday at the end of our Meet & Greet. Before communicating to you any other information, I will provide you with the following link (https://youtu.be/aJpWMF9imIA) a basic “Set yourself up for Saving files and CTLS Navigation,” which was prepared by our Wonderful teacher, Mrs. Bowers. In order to know how to behave and function in the classroom, it is important that students and even parents take a look at this infographic link (french_class_digital_norms_infographics__2_.png)
Unlike the end of last semester, attendance will be taken daily and assignments be grades. Therefore, there will pass or fail for each class. Students will need to be present, show their faces, and sit at a table. Students are to dress appropriately, and the wearing of pajamas is forbidden. As for help or tutoring, students will have the opportunity to contact me during my office hours on Monday and Thursday between 1:30 and 3:30. They will also have the opportunity to receive additional help by joining a live session on Wednesdays during their designated period/block.
As for what students, since classes are online, they will simply need a notebook to make note of any lessons either directly from me or online. Although we will post an online dictionary in the Resources portal, students are still encouraged to buy a paper dictionary.
I thank you all parents for the opportunity afforded me to teach your children and I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
Dear parent,
We will be starting the school year online and we will be using the Cobb Teaching and Learning System (CTLS) as a learning platform. All lessons and resources will be located within CTLS. Log on to CTLS Student or CTLS Parent for more information.
CTLS student login page: https://ctlslearn.cobbk12.org
CTLS login username: Office 365 username (usually this is [email protected] )
CTLS password: Office 365 password
If it asks for a client ID, type in gacobb
Some students have a slightly different Office 365 username. If you need to find it, click here.
If you try to log in and you can’t, don’t freak out yet. Access is limited as students are imported into their classes.
Classes start on Monday, Aug. 17. The Hillgrove schedule for online learning is here.
The following link is a CTLS intro video that Mr. Buckert (one of Hilgrove's Physics teachers) created to help you with navigating CTLS on your cellphone.
